I traveled to Dehra Dun with Pukar where we met Kumar ( next to Pukar) at Manjri Mafi, his home and compound in Dehra Dun. Meher Baba and The Mandali stayed there during The New Life in 1950. His Daughter is Amrette who married Dara, Meher Baba's nephew.

Mukund, Kesav Nigam's brother sitting next to the hut where Meher Baba declared his Avatarhood at Meherastana. He was the Caretaker and had actually help build the hut in 1952. This photo was taken in 1977.

Mukund has an amazing story. He had a leprosy and was ostracized and made to live on the edge of the village. When Meher Baba visited his village during his 1952 Hamirpur tour Baba made a special visit to Mukundlai in his secluded hut. His skin ailment disappeared shortly after.

This is the permitter of Meherastana, the last of the jungle that covered the whole area in 1952 during Baba's visit. There was still a flock of wild peacocks when I first visited in 1977. They were gone when I returned in the 1980's.
